Ingredients

Scale

Butter Mixture

  • 1 cup (16 Tbsp; 226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup (30g) confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or more to taste
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the Butter: In a large bowl, use a handheld mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment to beat the softened butter on medium speed for 1 minute until it becomes smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add confectioners’ sugar, honey or maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the butter. Beat the mixture on medium-high speed for 3 to 4 minutes until it becomes extra creamy and a little fluffy.
  3. Combine Evenly: Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a silicone spatula to ensure all ingredients are fully incorporated. Beat again briefly if needed to achieve a smooth consistency.
  4. Adjust Flavor: Taste the cinnamon butter and add more cinnamon (up to 1 and 1/4 teaspoons) or salt according to your preference. Mix briefly to combine any additional seasoning.
  5. Serve and Store: Serve the cinnamon butter with an optional drizzle of honey or maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon or flaky sea salt. Store leftovers tightly covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 2-3 months.

Notes

  • Use unsalted butter to control the salt level in the recipe.
  • For a sweeter spread, adjust the amount of honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • Softened butter at room temperature will whip better for a fluffy texture.
  • Cinnamon amount can be increased up to 1 1/4 teaspoons for a stronger flavor.
  • Store refrigerated if not using within 2 days to maintain freshness.
