4.6 from 267 reviews

This Viral Cherry Vanilla Latte offers a delightful twist on the traditional latte by blending the rich flavors of cherry syrup and vanilla with espresso and creamy milk. The low-sugar cherry syrup uses allulose, making it a lighter, flavorful coffee drink perfect for cherry lovers seeking a refreshing and unique beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Cherry Syrup

  • 2 cups frozen cherries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/41/3 cup allulose (adjust to taste; can use coconut sugar or regular sugar as alternatives)

Cherry Latte

  • 23 tablespoons cherry sauce (see recipe above)
  • 12 shots espresso
  • 3 tablespoons milk of choice (almond, coconut, or regular milk)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (regular or dairy-free)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cherries: In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the frozen cherries, water, and allulose. Heat until the mixture begins to simmer.
  2. Simmer: Let the mixture simmer for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to soften the cherries and release their juices. Once cooked, remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. Blend: Use an immersion blender directly in the pot or transfer the mixture to a blender. Blend until smooth for a silky cherry syrup consistency.
  4. Adjust consistency: If the syrup is too thick, add a little more water incrementally until reaching your desired thickness.
  5. Brew the espresso: Prepare 1-2 shots of espresso using your espresso machine, Nespresso, or strong brewed coffee.
  6. Froth: Combine the milk, heavy cream, and optional vanilla extract. Froth them together using a milk frother or whisk until slightly foamy and creamy.
  7. Assemble the latte: Fill a glass with ice, pour in the cherry sauce, then add the espresso shots followed by the frothy milk mixture. Stir well to combine all layers evenly.
  8. Top & enjoy: Optionally garnish your latte with an extra drizzle of cherry sauce or a sprinkle of cinnamon to enhance the flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of allulose or sugar in the cherry syrup according to taste.
  • Use dairy-free milk and cream alternatives to make the latte vegan-friendly.
  • The cherry syrup can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • For a cold latte, use ice cubes and chilled milk; for a hot version, omit ice and warm the milk before frothing.
  • Espresso strength can be adjusted by the number of shots depending on your caffeine preference.
