Ingredients

Scale

Tea and Spices

  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 black tea bags

Milk and Sweeteners

  • 1 1/2 cups 2% milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Boil Cinnamon and Water: Combine 2 cups of water and the cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil to extract the cinnamon flavor.
  2. Steep Tea: Remove the saucepan from heat, add the black tea bags, then cover the pot and let it steep for 7 minutes to allow the tea and cinnamon to infuse thoroughly.
  3. Heat Milk: While the tea is steeping, warm the 2% milk using a microwave or a separate saucepan until it’s warm but not boiling. Set it aside.
  4. Remove Solids: After 7 minutes, remove the tea bags and cinnamon sticks from the saucepan to prevent over-steeping and bitterness.
  5. Add Sweeteners and Milk: Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract into the tea for sweetness and aroma, then add the warmed milk and mix well.
  6. Serve: Pour the sweet cinnamon milk tea evenly into two cups and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy your cozy drink!

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup according to your taste.
  • For a vegan version, substitute 2% milk with almond, oat, or soy milk.
  • If you prefer stronger cinnamon flavor, let the cinnamon sticks steep longer but avoid boiling with the tea bags to prevent bitterness.
  • Use good quality black tea, such as Assam or Ceylon, for a richer flavor.
  • This recipe serves two, but can be doubled easily for more servings.
