Ingredients

Scale

Chocolates

  • 2 lbs vanilla almond bark, broken into pieces
  • 4 oz German chocolate bar, broken into pieces
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Peanuts

  • 16 oz honey roasted peanuts
  • 16 oz salted roasted peanuts

Topping

  • Holiday sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheets: Line 2-3 large baking sheets with parchment paper or wax paper and set aside to prepare for the clusters.
  2. Combine ingredients in crock pot: Break the vanilla almond bark and German chocolate bar into pieces and place them in your slow cooker along with the semi-sweet chocolate chips and both types of peanuts. There is no need to grease the crock pot.
  3. Cook the mixture: Cover and cook on LOW heat for 1 hour. After 1 hour, check and stir the mixture. The chocolate should be mostly melted. If not fully melted, cover and cook for an additional 15-30 minutes, checking every 15 minutes.
  4. Keep chocolate warm: After melting, switch the crock pot to the WARM setting to maintain a fluid chocolate consistency, allowing you to work at your own pace while scooping clusters.
  5. Form clusters: Using a small cookie scoop or two spoons, drop tablespoon-sized clusters onto the prepared baking sheets. Work relatively quickly, but the warm setting will give you some flexibility.
  6. Add sprinkles: Immediately sprinkle holiday sprinkles on the clusters while the chocolate is still wet, ensuring the sprinkles stick well.
  7. Set clusters: Allow the clusters to set at room temperature for 1-2 hours or refrigerate for 30-45 minutes to speed up the process.
  8. Store properly: Once fully set, store the clusters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for up to 1 month for longer freshness.

Notes

  • Use parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking on baking sheets.
  • Do not grease the crock pot to avoid interfering with chocolate setting.
  • Maintaining the WARM setting after melting helps keep the chocolate fluid for easier scooping.
  • Adding sprinkles immediately ensures they adhere well to the clusters.
  • Clusters can be refrigerated or kept at room temperature depending on how soon you want to eat them.
  • For a different nutty variation, you can substitute or mix in other nuts as desired.
