Prepared Pizza Dough:

  • 1 at room temperature

White Sauce:

  • 1/41/2 cup (see recipe in Wild Palms Pizza Post)

Mozzarella:

  • ~1/2 cup shredded

Smoked Mozzarella:

  • ~1/2 cup

Hot Italian Sausage:

  • 1216 oz. (45 links), casings removed, browned and crumbled

Red Onion:

  • 1/4 large, sliced into thin rounds

Raw Honey:

  • Drizzle to finish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Let dough sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, but 45 minutes is better.

  3. Brown sausage: Remove casings from sausage, brown over medium-low heat, break apart with a wooden spatula. Drain and set aside.
  4. Make White Sauce: Refer to the recipe in Wild Palms Pizza post.
  5. Prepare sheet pan: Coat with olive oil.
  6. Roll out dough: On a floured surface, roll out the dough to roughly 9′ x 13′ and lay it in the sheet pan.
  7. Layer toppings: Spread white sauce, mozzarella, sausage, onions, and cheeses in layers.
  8. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  • This pizza pairs well with a drizzle of balsamic glaze for added flavor.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite ingredients.
