Ingredients

Scale

Pumpkin Syrup:

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or a mix of cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Water and Sugar: In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Add Pumpkin and Spices: Add the pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and salt to the saucepan. Whisk thoroughly until well combined and there are no lumps.
  3. Boil and Simmer: Increase the heat slightly and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low to let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Cool and Strain: Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Once cooled, strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar or bottle to remove any solids.
  6. Refrigerate: Seal the jar or bottle and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
