This Pumpkin Charcuterie Board is a festive and fun snack arrangement perfect for fall gatherings and Halloween parties. It features a delightful mix of sweet and savory bites artfully displayed on a pumpkin-shaped wooden board, including cheeses, crackers, fruits, nuts, and chocolates. The creative presentation mimics a jack-o’-lantern with clever placements of ingredients for the eyes, nose, and smile, making it as visually appealing as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Cheese and Crackers

  • Cheddar crackers, 1 cup
  • Cheddar popcorn, 1 cup
  • Goldfish crackers, 1 cup
  • Cheddar corn nuts, 1 cup
  • Cheddar cheese, sliced, 6 oz
  • Smoked gouda, cubed, 6 oz

Fruits and Nuts

  • Blackberries, 1/2 cup
  • Blueberries, 1/2 cup
  • Cantaloupe, cubed, 1 cup
  • Orange slices, 1 small orange
  • Dried apricots, 1/2 cup
  • Orange covered almonds, 1/2 cup

Other

  • Dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1/4 cup
  • Black olives, 1/3 cup
  • Mini cucumber, sliced, 1 small cucumber

Instructions

  1. Prepare the board: Use a large round wooden board with a handle that resembles the shape of a pumpkin as your canvas for the charcuterie display.
  2. Create the pumpkin face: Place three triangle-shaped cookie cutters on the board to form the eyes and nose. Fill one eye with dark chocolate candy, the other eye with black olives, and the nose with blackberries, mimicking a jack-o’-lantern.
  3. Make the smile: Arrange the blueberries along the bottom part of the board in a curved shape to form a big smiling mouth for the pumpkin.
  4. Fill the sections: Vertically place the remaining ingredients in distinct sections between the face features, lining the board with cheddar crackers, cheddar popcorn, goldfish crackers, cheddar corn nuts, cheeses, cantaloupe cubes, orange slices, dried apricots, orange almonds, and any other items until the board is fully covered.
  5. Add the pumpkin stem: Slice the mini cucumber and place the slices on the board handle to resemble a pumpkin stem, completing the festive look.

Notes

  • Use a clean and sturdy wooden board to make handling easier and the display more attractive.
  • You can substitute cheeses and snacks based on preferences or dietary needs.
  • Keep perishable items chilled until just before serving to maintain freshness.
  • Feel free to add other fall-themed fruits or nuts such as apple slices or pecans.
  • This board requires no cooking, making it an easy and quick appetizer to assemble.
