  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda

Decorations

  • 72 small pretzel twists
  • 36 red M&Ms
  • 72 candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the cookies.
  2. Make the Dough: In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, sugar, peanut butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually stir in the flour and baking soda until the dough is fully combined and holds together well.
  4. Shape Dough Balls: Divide the dough into 36 equal pieces and roll each into a ball.
  5. Shape Cookies: Slightly flatten each ball and shape it into a rounded triangle to mimic a reindeer face.
  6. Place on Baking Sheets: Arrange the shaped cookies on parchment-lined baking sheets, leaving room for spreading.
  7. Add Pretzel Antlers: Press two mini pretzels into the top two corners of each cookie triangle to form the reindeer antlers.
  8. Add Noses: Press a red M&M into the center bottom area of each cookie to resemble the reindeer’s nose.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies turn a golden brown color.
  10. Cool: Remove the cookies from the oven and transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
  11. Add Eyes: Once cooled, dip the bottom of each candy eye into a little peanut butter and place them on the cookie to create the reindeer’s eyes.
  12. Serve: Your Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies are ready to enjoy or gift!

Notes

  • Be sure the butter is softened to ensure smooth batter mixing.
  • Flatten and shape the dough before baking to resemble the reindeer face clearly.
  • Allow cookies to cool completely before adding the candy eyes for best adhesion.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • For a nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter and ensure pretzels and decorations are nut-free.
