Refreshing and aromatic, this Orange Cinnamon Iced Tea is a delightful twist on a classic beverage. The combination of citrusy orange, warm cinnamon, and rich black tea creates a flavorful and cooling drink perfect for any time of the year.

Ingredients

Scale

For the tea:

  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 Black tea bags or 4 tsp loose leaf
  • 1 Orange (large)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 2 Star anises (optional)

For serving:

  • Honey or sugar (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the water: In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Meanwhile, zest the orange to obtain about one teaspoon of zest.
  2. Add tea and spices: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the tea bags, cinnamon sticks, orange zest, and star anises. Cover and let it steep for 5 to 8 minutes.
  3. Prepare the orange: Juice the orange while the tea is steeping. After steeping, discard the tea bags, strain the tea, and mix in the orange juice. Sweeten with honey or sugar to taste.
  4. Chill the tea: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
  5. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh orange slices, cinnamon sticks, or star anise. Enjoy your Orange Cinnamon Iced Tea!

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness of the tea by adding more or less honey or sugar.
  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, let the cinnamon sticks steep longer in the tea.
