Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Crust

  • 40 Oreo cookies (regular or double stuf)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip

Pudding Layer

  • 2 (3.9 oz) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 1/4 cups cold milk (1%, 2%, or whole)
  • 8 oz Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Make the Crust: Crush the Oreo cookies using a food processor or place them in a Ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin, leaving some chunks for texture. Reserve 1/4 cup of the crushed Oreos for topping. Combine the remaining Oreo crumbs with the melted butter and press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 13×9 inch dish. Refrigerate to set while preparing the other layers.
  2. Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer: Beat the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl until smooth, ensuring there are no lumps. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar. Using a spatula, gently fold in 8 oz of Cool Whip until well combined. Spread this cream cheese mixture evenly over the Oreo crust. Return the dish to the refrigerator while making the pudding layer.
  3. Make the Pudding Layer: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened. Let it sit for an additional 5 minutes to fully set. Spread the pudding over the cream cheese layer evenly.
  4. Assemble the Dessert: Spread the remaining 8 oz of Cool Whip over the pudding layer smoothly. Sprinkle the reserved 1/4 cup of crushed Oreos on top as garnish.
  5. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to allow all layers to fully set and flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, soften the cream cheese completely before mixing to avoid lumps.
  • Using double stuf Oreos will create a creamier crust and stronger Oreo flavor.
  • Cold milk is important to ensure the pudding sets properly.
  • Can be prepared a day ahead, making it a convenient make-ahead dessert.
  • Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
