This Loaded Tea Recipe is a refreshing and vibrant drink that combines the flavors of green tea, mango, passionfruit, ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon, topped with a beautiful ombre effect using butterfly pea powder. Perfect for a flavorful and colorful beverage experience.

Tea Base:

  • 1 litre filtered water
  • 4 Green Tea bags (mango and passionfruit flavor)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1/21/4 cup sweetener (to taste)

Blue Matcha Mix:

  • 1 tsp butterfly pea powder
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Add the water, tea bags, sliced ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon to a medium pot on the stove. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat and stir in lemon juice and sweetener.
  3. Allow the loaded tea to cool down to room temperature. Remove and discard the teabags and sliced ginger.
  4. To serve, fill a large glass with ice. Fill the glass 1/3 of the way up with loaded tea.
  5. Top up all the way with water, or top it almost all the way and follow the next steps for the ombre effect.
  6. For the ombre effect: Mix the butterfly pea powder, honey, and water together. Pouring very slowly, top the loaded tea up with this blue matcha mix.

Notes

  • Sweetener can be adjusted to taste preference.
