Ingredients

Scale

Skewers

  • 8 Bamboo skewers

Marinade

  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Main

  • 1 lb Large shrimp (31/40 size, peeled and deveined)

Instructions

  1. Soak skewers: Soak the bamboo skewers in water for 30-60 minutes before using to prevent them from burning on the grill.
  2. Prepare marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Marinate shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade and gently toss to coat. Let the shrimp marinate for 15-30 minutes, but avoid marinating longer to prevent texture changes.
  4. Preheat grill: Preheat your outdoor grill for about 15 minutes to medium-high heat, or heat a grill pan over medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes if cooking indoors.
  5. Thread shrimp: Remove shrimp from the marinade and thread them evenly onto the soaked bamboo skewers, preparing them for grilling.
  6. Grill shrimp: Place the shrimp skewers onto the hot grill and cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque on the bottom but still slightly translucent on top. Flip the skewers and grill for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are fully opaque and cooked through.

Notes

  • Do not over-marinate the shrimp to maintain the best texture.
  • Soaking bamboo skewers prevents them from burning during grilling.
  • Ensure the grill or grill pan is properly heated for even cooking.
  • Shrimp cook quickly; watch closely to avoid overcooking, which can make them tough.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
