Main Ingredients
- 5 cups Honey Nut Cheerios
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter
Toppings
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup M&M candies
- 1/2 cup white chocolate melting wafers
- Prepare the pan. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent the bars from sticking and make removal easier.
- Melt marshmallows and butter. In a large bowl, combine the mini marshmallows and butter. Microwave for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth. If needed, microwave for another minute to ensure all marshmallows are melted completely.
- Mix cereal. Once the marshmallow mixture is smooth, add the 5 cups of Honey Nut Cheerios. Stir gently until the cereal is thoroughly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Press into pan. Pour the coated cereal into the prepared pan. Using buttered hands or a greased piece of parchment paper, press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan to form the bars.
- Add toppings. Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips and M&M candies over the warm cereal bars to create a colorful and tasty topping.
- Melt white chocolate. In a small bowl, melt the 1/2 cup white chocolate melting wafers in the microwave using 20-second bursts, stirring after each interval until fully melted and smooth.
- Drizzle white chocolate. Using a spoon or piping bag, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the bars to add an appealing finish and a touch of extra sweetness.
- Cool and serve. Allow the bars to cool for 1 hour at room temperature until they set. Once cooled, slice into bars and serve.
Notes
- Use butter or nonstick spray on hands or parchment paper when pressing bars to avoid sticking.
- Feel free to substitute or add other candies or nuts for personal preference.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For firmer bars, refrigerate for 30 minutes before slicing.
