Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings

Spices & Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken wings in a large bowl to get ready for seasoning.
  2. Season the Wings: Add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Toss everything well to ensure the wings are evenly coated with the spices.
  3. Bake the Wings: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the wings on a baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they are spaced apart for even cooking. Bake the wings for 20 minutes.
  4. Apply BBQ Sauce: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and generously brush both sides of each wing with the BBQ sauce.
  5. Caramelize the Sauce: Increase the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) and return the wings to bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the barbecue sauce is nicely caramelized and sticky.
  6. Serve: Take the wings out of the oven and serve immediately while hot for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for 2-3 minutes at the end, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • Feel free to adjust the chili flakes to control the spiciness level.
  • Leftover wings can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Use a wire rack on the baking sheet for better air circulation and crispier wings if preferred.
